THE COMMISSION FORM OF GOVERNMENT
THE BROWN ACT
City commissions are governed by the Brown Act of the State of California. Under the terms of the Brown Act, all meetings and hearings shall be open to the public and all votes and actions shall be taken in public. Notice of all meetings must be given at least 72 hours in advance, with public notice and specific notice, to any person or organization that has made such a request. Secret meetings are prohibited by the Brown Act.

The intent of the Brown Act is that public business shall be conducted in full view of the public.
