Welcome to the City of Los Angeles Public Works High School Internship Program. Here is some important information to assist you with applying for our program:

Important Dates:
  • Open Enrollment: February 4, 2011
  • Application Deadline: March 2, 2011 - 11:00 p.m.
  • Job Skills Workshop:
    • March 19, 2011: East Los Angeles (9:00 a.m. - Noon)
    • March 26, 2011: San Fernando Valley (9:00 a.m. - Noon)
    • April 2, 2011: East Los Angeles (9:00 a.m. - Noon)
  • Interview Session:
    • April 16: Location To Be Determined (8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., tentatively)
Eligibility Requirements:
  • You are a current high school junior or senior
  • You either
    • live in the City of Los Angeles, or
    • attend an LAUSD high school, or
    • attend a high school located int he City of Los Angeles
  • You are able to provide verification of your legal right to work
  • You are able to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., from July 5, 2011 thru August 5, 2001
  • You must submit an Online Application and Recommendation Form
  • You must attend:
    • a mandatory job skills workshop (March 19, 2011 - East Los Angeles, 9:00 a.m. - noon)
    • a mandatory interview session (April 16, 2001, location to be determined, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. tentatively)
How to Apply:

Step 1: Submit Required Forms (you will need to scan and update the documents with your online application)

Step 2: Attend a mandatory Job Skills Workshop

  • March 19, 2011: East Los Angeles (9:00 a.m. - Noon)
  • March 26, 2011: San Fernando Valley (9:00 a.m. - Noon)
  • April 2, 2011: East Los Angeles (9:00 a.m. - Noon)
