OFFICE OF COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAMS
|
The Office of Community Beautification coordinates three programs that enable community groups to be involved in the beautification of their neighborhood. These programs are:
- Adopt-A-Median
- Adopt-A-Basket
- Adopt-A-Spot
ADOPT-A-MEDIAN
The program encourages community groups to adopt medians or parkways, for purposes of planting and beautifying, on condition that the group maintains the improvements indefinitely. OCB coordinates the appropriate City department’s approval and will waive all fees associated with an A Permit and a Revocable Permit.

ADOPT-A-BASKET
The program encourages community groups and residents to adopt a trash basket in their neighborhood. The City will provide a standard green wire basket and trash bags for a selected location, if a merchant, resident or community group agrees to maintain the container on a regular basis. The baskets are intended for public space and commercial areas, and not for residential areas.

ADOPT-A-SPOT
OCB encourages community groups to adopt a specific location to keep the area free from litter, debris, tagging and graffiti. OCB will provide the necessary materials for the project.
